UI Academy: UI Design Training

You do not need any specific prior knowledge to take part in this training course. All you need is a keen interest in the subject matter, an affinity for the digital world, and experience in using digital media and devices such as smartphones, tablets and computers. We would like to point out that certain course content (such as videos or commands) is presented in English. This decision was made deliberately to prepare you as well as possible for a career in a global environment where the English language plays an important role. Please bear this in mind when choosing your course, and rest assured that we are here to support you in thriving in an international working environment in the future.

If you are registered as a resident in Germany and are registered as a jobseeker, you can apply for a Bildungsgutschein from the Arbeitsagentur. Here you will find our ‘step-by-step guide’ to the application process.

Employees can benefit from funding under the Qualifizierungschancengesetzt. Up to 100 per cent of the costs of further training may be subsidised. You can find more information on the funding page.

If you have decided to take part in this course, you can simply register via our website. If you are funding your further training using a Bildugnsgutschein from the JobCenter, please follow these steps:

1. Request a course quote from us for your further training.
2. Submit this to your case worker at the JobCenter and apply for your Bildungsgutschein.
3. Send us the training voucher so that we can complete it and send it back to you. Please let us know your preferred start date.
4. Submit the training voucher, which we have completed, to your case worker at the JobCenter, signed by you; select the specified start date, register via our website (payment method – BGS) and quote the BGS number when registering.
5. Once you have booked your place, you will receive a confirmation of enrolment, including a distance learning contract. Please also submit this to the JobCentre.
6. You will also receive reminder emails and all the necessary login details before your training program begins.

Throughout your training programme, you will be supported by a personal trainer who will provide you with individual support and encouragement. They will be your dedicated point of contact for all technical and subject-related queries regarding the training programme and will be on hand at all times to offer expert guidance should you face any challenges, have any uncertainties or need help with your studies.

Your trainer will help you to successfully understand and apply the course material, provide you with valuable professional insights and offer continuous support as you progress towards successfully completing the course.

Throughout the training programme, you will take part in live virtual classes. During these sessions, tasks, solutions and practical exercises will be discussed with the trainer.

The live classes take place from Monday to Friday between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm. A trainer is available online as a point of contact for each learning module.

Your course includes free career coaching. As part of the career coaching, we offer job application training, open FAQ sessions and one-to-one job coaching with our HR specialist.

The training course is made available to you on our online learning platform. You can work through the course at your own pace, wherever you are. All you need for the practical work is an internet connection and a computer. All content is also accessible on the go via your mobile phone.

Please don’t worry about your holiday. XDi offers you the option to take a break from your training. You won’t miss a thing and, after your holiday, you can pick up where you left off, feeling refreshed and re-energised. Please note that if you are using a training voucher, you must first register your holiday with the Jobcentre and have it approved.

Please submit your sick note to the Jobcentre. If you are unable to make up for this missed time, we will be happy to extend your training course free of charge, in consultation with the Jobcentre. You will not lose any study time. Nothing will stand in the way of you successfully completing the course, despite your illness.

Content is king – practice is queen. Alongside our focus on ‘learning by doing’, we place enormous value on professional, state-of-the-art content. The theoretical content is presented in the form of texts, graphics, images and videos, including animations. The content is specifically designed for educational purposes and is of the highest aesthetic quality. The video material is extensive and meets the highest standards for first-class, up-to-date knowledge transfer. You will immediately put the knowledge you have learnt into practice through numerous practical tasks following the theoretical input. You can also regularly assess your learning progress through quizzes tailored precisely to the content.

The teaching modules consist of approximately 1/5 theory and approximately 4/5 practical work. The theory component comprises the texts and videos provided, as well as the study of external learning materials and the assessment of learning outcomes via quizzes. The practical component includes hands-on work on a virtual project, your own final project (capstone project), the coaching sessions, and the documentation of your work results.

All you need is a standard computer (laptop/PC) with an internet connection and:

• a Windows operating system (recommended to get the most out of Power BI Desktop) or
• a Mac/Linux computer with a virtual Windows system (e.g. VirtualBox, VMware Fusion or the UTM app)
